Marsha Connell’s expressive and colorist landscapes in oil, pastel, and watercolor are a response to a spirit of place. They are representational paintings, yet can also open a door to the inner landscape, with their energetic painterly surfaces, softly defined edges and luminous layers of sometimes unexpected or mysterious hues. Known best as a Northern California landscape painter, Marsha broadens her palette in her travels . . . returning to her roots in Upstate New York’s Adirondacks, and Saratoga Springs, where she graduated from Skidmore College, or locations where she’s led workshops, such as: Taos, New Mexico, with Rush Studios; or Juneau, Alaska, with the Plein Rein Painters.
